Liga Argentina De Voleibol - A1 Series

Argentina's Volleyball League - Serie A1 (English Argentina Volleyball League - Level A1) is the highest level of Argentine volleyball system in the league. It is organized by the Association of Volleyball Clubs Liga Argentina (abbreviated ACLAV). Serie A1 has the rise and fall of the Series A2 A, the league immediately below.

The league was founded in 1996 as the Argentina League Club (in English: Argentina League clubs), and was organized by the Volleyball Federation of Argentina (Argentina Volleyball Federation).

12 teams participated in the first season in the league (1996-97), 7 from Buenos Aires (Velez Sarsfield, River Plate, Club Amigos de, Boca Juniors, Geba, and Club Náutico Hacoaj Italiano) and the remaining 5 of the country (Regatas de Mendoza, San Juan de obras Unión Casildense, Luz y Fuerza they Necochea and Mar del Plata Penarol).

Peñarol won the first season by beating Boca Juniors in the final. However, players of the club have not received their salaries unpaid for up to 8 years later, when they did through the legal process.

Overall, the Club Ciudad Bolívar team was most successful. Bolivar joined the Liga Argentina de Voleibol for the 2002-03 season, supported by the Argentine TV host Marcelo Tinelli and entrepreneur. Since then, the team won six titles, including a series of four consecutive victories over the last four seasons.
